Company Overview:

In today’s digital age, an astonishing 99% of computer users lack programming skills, and even seasoned experts often grapple with coding challenges. At the forefront of AI innovation lies program synthesis, a groundbreaking field that has the potential to revolutionize how people create programs. With program synthesis, the computer autonomously generates code to accomplish tasks, whether you’re a novice with no coding experience or a professional developer. All you need to do is communicate your intentions to the synthesizer, be it through examples or natural language, and it will create the desired program. This breakthrough significantly enhances productivity across various domains, from data preparation to code editing.

The PROSE team at Microsoft is dedicated to pushing the boundaries of program synthesis, delivering these innovations through flagship products such as Excel, Visual Studio, PowerShell, and SQL Server Management Studio. We’ve built a robust and adaptable program synthesis framework that combines logical reasoning and machine learning techniques in novel ways to automatically synthesize programs. Our approach has earned recognition with regular publications at top-tier conferences, including several that have won best paper and test-of-time awards.
