Odisha Public Service Commission(OPSC) is seeking applications from eligible and interested candidates for the post of Mining Officer in the rank of Group-A- A under the Steel and Mines Department.

  • As per the official notification, OPSC Recruitment 2023 is inviting applications for the post of Mining Officer in the rank of Group-A-A under the Steel and Mines Department. There are 23 vacancies available for this post.

Age Limit for OPSC Recruitment 2023:

  • The minimum age limit is 21 years, while the maximum age limit is 38 years.

Salary for OPSC Recruitment 2023:

  • Selected candidates for the post of Mining Officer will receive a monthly salary of Rs. 56,100 in Level 12, Cell-1 of the pay matrix as per the 2017 Odisha Revised Scale of Pay (ORSP) Rules.
  • This salary package includes regular Dearness and any additional allowances authorized by the Government of Odisha.

Qualification for OPSC Recruitment 2023:

  • Candidates applying for OPSC Recruitment 2023 must hold a 2nd Class Mining Engineering Degree from a recognized Indian University.

Selection Process for OPSC Recruitment 2023:

  • The selection process for OPSC Recruitment 2023 includes a written test and a viva voce test. The written test consists of two papers with a total of 500 points.
  • Paper I is a General Studies & Awareness Test, while Paper II is a Specialization Paper in Mining Engineering. Both papers have objective-type questions.
  • There will be negative marking for incorrect answers. The viva voce test carries a maximum of 50 marks.

Examination Fee for OPSC Recruitment 2023:

  • As per the official notification, the examination fee has been waived for all candidate categories, based on GA and PG Department Notification No. 9897/Gen, dated 11.04.2022.

Document Required for OPSC Recruitment 2023:

  • Candidates shortlisted for the viva voce test must carry a physical copy of their online application form along with copies and originals of their certificates, mark sheets, and other relevant documents.
  • Failure to do so may result in disqualification from the viva voce test.

  • To apply for OPSC Recruitment 2023, interested and eligible candidates need to submit their application online before the last date.
  • Offline applications will not be accepted.
  • Applicants should upload a scanned image of their latest passport-size photograph along with the necessary documents.
  • The online application process started on 1st July 2023 and will close on 31st July 2023.
