Introduction:

S&P Global Commodity Insights is seeking a Research Analyst to join our dynamic team in Gurgaon, India. In this role, you will be an integral part of the South Asia Power and Renewable research team, which is a vital component of S&P’s Gas, Power, and Climate Solutions (GPCS) practice. Our team focuses on investigating strategic issues within the energy market of South Asia, including India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, and Sri Lanka. We provide both retainer research and bespoke consulting to help clients navigate this complex and rapidly evolving market landscape. As a Research Analyst, you will play a crucial role in conducting research and analysis related to power and renewables market regulations, with a focus on delivering valuable insights and market updates. Your responsibilities include producing accurate and timely deliverables, supporting research reports, and assisting clients with their inquiries. Responsibilities:

  • Lead qualitative and quantitative research and analysis on power and renewables market regulations, resulting in presentations, insight papers, data sets, and consulting projects.
  • Employ critical-thinking skills to assess information quality and relevance, ensuring timely delivery of research reports to meet client needs.
  • Support the development of market outlooks, including assumptions, regulatory insights, data collection, and input structuring.
  • Identify opportunities for collaboration with other experts in the region and industry to execute complex research topics and forecasts.
  • Assist clients through calls and inquiries, effectively addressing their concerns and providing actionable insights.
  • Support the delivery of SPGI events such as webinars, energy briefings, forums, seminars, and conferences, while building a professional network.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Graduate/Post-graduate degree in Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, or Operational Research.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Depth and/or breadth of expertise in Power and Renewables, with knowledge of related areas preferred.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, including the ability to present to clients and external audiences.
  • Knowledge of power markets and regulations is a plus but not mandatory.
