About the Organization

Fish Welfare Initiative (FWI) works to reduce the suffering of farmed fish, and is amongst the first organizations in this growing space. Thus far, our efforts have mainly focused on India, where in the past 2 years we have built a team of about 15 people and improved the lives of over 600,000 fish.
We collaborate with corporations, governments, and producers to improve animal welfare standards in aquaculture. We believe this is right for fish, farmers, and consumers.
