Two interns will be associated in this assignment; one shall be working for ICAP and other shall be working for Kigali amendment related research and preparation activities.
India Cooling Action Plan (ICAP) is launched by Ozone Cell of the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change (MoEFCC) which aims:
- To provide sustainable cooling while keeping in mind, at the same time, the need to protect the ozone layer
- To provide a 20-year perspective, with projections for cooling needs in 2037-38.
Eligibility
- Engineering background (Mechanical/Chemical/Environmental) with good communication skills, including sourcing, analysis and interpretation of information and report writing.

Applicants to the UNDP internship programme must at the time of application meet one of the following requirements:
- Be enrolled in a postgraduate degree programme (such as a master’s programme, or higher);
- Be enrolled in the final academic year of a first university degree programme (such as bachelor’s degree or equivalent);
- Have recently graduated with a university degree (as defined in (a) and (b) above) and, if selected, must start the internship within one-year of graduation;
- Be enrolled in a postgraduate professional traineeship program and undertake the internship as part of this program.
Responsibilities
Under the overall supervision of the Programme Officer, the intern will perform the following duties:
Intern 1:
- Support the compilation and analysis of theme-based database of the Action Plan
- Assist in the preparation of briefing notes on ICAP
- Assist with research, writing and sharing of compiled data
- Support in drafting the synthesis of ICAP to feed into the preparation of research articles/papers
- Support in conduct of the meetings in Ministry and other partners
- Support in organization of webinars/events to disseminate findings
- Handholding support in conducting research, compiling data, sourcing, interpreting information and writing reports
- Contribute to designing and dissemination of knowledge products
Other relevant tasks as deemed necessary by the supervisor(s).
Intern 2:

- Assist in the preparation of briefing notes on Kigali Amendment
- Assist with research, writing and sharing of compiled data
- Support in drafting the synthesis of Kigali Amendment to feed into the preparation of research articles/papers
- Support in conduct of the meetings in Ministry and other partners
- Support in organization of webinars/events to disseminate findings
- Handholding support in conducting research, compiling data, sourcing, interpreting information and writing reports
- Contribute to designing and dissemination of knowledge products.
