Girl Up India is looking to hire a full-time person for the post of Communications Coordinator. This position would require the person to conceptualise, design and implement Girl Up India’s online and offline communication strategies. 

About the Organization

Girl Up was founded by the UN Foundation in 2010 as an initiative to help support UN agencies that focus on adolescent girls.

Roles & Responsibilities include: 

  • Innovate new ideas for digital advocacy campaigns
  • Conceptualise, design and implement strategic digital campaigns
  • Liaise with partners and assist the Girl Up India team  in expanding the campaign
  • Create relatable and impactful  feminist graphics, posters, memes and videos including  the Girl Up Zine
  • Write campaign and donor reports
  • Contribute to other admin tasks and Girl Up India’s on-ground events as and when required
  • Work in collaboration with the Regional Leaders to carry out the vision of Girl Up India
  • Note: Weekend, night and holiday work might be required on a case to case basis

Qualifications: 

  • A bachelor’s degree in media, social sciences or humanities 
  • Candidates should have 1 year experience in a similar role 
  • Must have a deep and nuanced understanding of Indian intersectional feminist politics
  • Research skills and ability to convert research into accessible, impactful content
  • Must have a knack for, and be active on social media and have experience with managing social media handles for companies/organisations
  • Have clear written and verbal communications skills
  • Should be a self-starter, willing and able to take initiative
  • Ability to stay organised, meet deadlines, and work well with the team
