About the Role:
The Senior Manager for the Eco City-Regions (ECR) Project will be responsible for providing strategic guidance and technical support to the ECR team and city partners. The role involves strategic input on interventions related to urban ecology, water-sensitive planning, climate resilience, and environmental governance. The Senior Manager will oversee project execution, provide technical reviews, and ensure overall project management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide strategic input and steering for WRI India projects on urban ecology, water-sensitive planning, climate resilience, and environmental governance.
- Oversee and coordinate the ‘Thriving Eco City-regions’ initiative in consultation with teams and partners across multiple city-regions.
- Support technical reviews and analysis of interventions, shaping deliverables, and communicating progress.
- Conduct primary and secondary research, on-site project activities, technical reviews, and inputs.
- Manage project monitoring, progress reporting, and troubleshoot/remediate gaps or delays.
- Oversight of local financial transactions, disbursement, and reporting following WRI India working manual.
- Relationship management with donors, implementation partners, and others for project execution.
- Organize events, forums, workshops, conferences, and technical training based on project needs.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- PhD/Masters/Equivalent Post Graduate degree in climate science, urban planning, environmental engineering, water resources management, urban ecology, or related disciplines.
- Minimum of 10 years of relevant work experience with city/state/regional planning programs, large-scale action research projects related to climate, water-sensitive urban planning, and environmental governance.
- Specialization or work experience demonstrated in climate, ecologically motivated urban planning, and regional water management is preferable.
- Knowledge of Indian urban development, climate, and environment paradigms, policies, trends, innovations, and practices related to water resilience.
- Experience using or having knowledge of relevant technological tools and methods such as computational flood modeling or spatial data analysis.
- Demonstrated experience in managing implementation projects, quantitative and qualitative data analysis.
- Experience working with government ministries, departments, non-government partners, and local academic/research institutes.
Salary and Benefits:
- INR 20,00,000 to INR 24,00,000 CTC. Salary will be commensurate with experience and skills. WRI offers a comprehensive benefits package.
