About the Opportunity:

Under sustainable cities program we use technical expertise, cutting-edge research and on-the-ground partnerships to design solutions that enable sustainable city growth.

We collaborate with local and national decision-makers across states to implement projects that overcome the challenges of urbanization and make cities that are better for people. WRI India is working closely with Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs (MoHUA), Government of India on various initiatives and one of them is Pilot on Formulation of Local area Plan (LAP) and Town Planning Scheme (TPS) under AMRUT sub-scheme.

WRI is anchoring the project in Dehradun and looking for an associate candidate with good planning, analytics, design and communication skills. Selected candidate will conduct research, liaising with partners, government agencies and experts, undertaking analysis and synthesize solutions towards project deliverables and on-site project implementation.

Roles and Responsibilities:

The candidate will undertake and oversee a range of responsibilities for the projects as are listed below:

  • Project organization and stakeholder coordination
  • Data collection, collation and analysis.
  • Preparation of necessary drawings, reports, presentations, graphics, etc.
  • Assistance in conducting community awareness, capacity building programs, trainings and workshops.
  • Assist in primary data collection, compilation, analysis and visualization.

  • Assist the team in timely delivery of activities as outlined in the project.

Eligibility:

  • Master’s degree in Urban Planning / City Planning / Housing (or relevant planning courses)
  • Any Bachelors’ Degree
  • Proficiency in Hindi and English is must (Reading, writing and communicating)
  • Excellent communication skills to clearly advise the stakeholders on plans, policies and financial models
  • Proficiency in quantitative and qualitative data analysis
  • Proficiency in GIS, AutoCAD and MS Office
  • Good graphic skills is an added advantage.
  • Ability to present complex information in a clear and concise manner, think creatively, work calmly and enthusiastically.
