About the Program
The National Biodiversity Authority (NBA) wish to engage dynamic and creative students, who are willing to learn about natural resource management and biodiversity conservation; support the projects of NBA in various States and Union Territories; and technically assist the State Biodiversity Boards/UT Biodiversity Councils in discharge of their mandates.
Eligibility Criteria
- Postgraduate degree or Bachelor degree in any discipline (3 Years / 4 Years including Engineering) and interest in Natural Resource Management.
- Must be between 21 – 30 years of age as on the date of closing of application
- Candidates pursuing their Postgraduate degree may also apply. However, they are required to submit a copy of their Masters Degree by October 01, 2023 to qualify for the internship.
Stipend
- ₹ 22,500/month
Roles and Responsibilities
Selected candidates will assist MoEF&CC, NBA, State Biodiversity Boards, Union Territory Biodiversity Councils and UNDP India in the following tasks:
- Operationalization and functioning of Biodiversity Management Committees (BMCs) in the States and Union Territories
- Help Biodiversity Management Committees in the preparation of Peoples’ Biodiversity Registers
- Coordination towards GoI-NBA-UNDP India Biodiversity Awards
- Implementation of Biological Diversity Act, 2002
Locations
- Interns will be placed in NBA – Chennai, MoEFCC and State Biodiversity Boards/UT Biodiversity Councils across the country.
