About TISS

The Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS) was established in 1936 as the Sir Dorabji Tata Graduate School of Social Work. In 1944, it was renamed as the Tata Institute of Social Sciences.

TISS is a centrally funded public university which operates from four campuses located in Mumbai and Tuljapur in Maharashtra, Guwahati and Hyderabad.

About the Opportunity

TISS is inviting applications for the position of Research Associates for a project under the establishment of SC ST cell by Telangana State Council of Science and Technology (TSCOST), Department of Science and Technology (DST).

Location:

  • TISS, Hyderabad Off-campus

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Educational qualification: Masters in any Social Science discipline, (with at least one year of work experience in research projects) .
  • Have good knowledge about basic statistical techniques and statistical software like STATA/SPSS
  • Age limit 25-40
  • The candidate should have good written and oral commutation skill in English and oral communication skill in Telugu

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Designing Questionnaire
  • Engage/Facilitate data collection through a household survey and Focus Group Discussion
  • Field visits in tribal Areas of Telangana
  • Basic Analysis and tabulation of large survey data
  • Identification of key informants from various stakeholders and conduct of qualitative interviews
  • Helping the PI/Co-PI for preparing the initial draft report

Remuneration: 

  • Consolidated payment of Rs. 30,000/- per month.

Place & Time of Interview:

  • The interview will be conducted in hybrid mode on 23 Jan 2022.
