About Manipur

Manipur, historically known as Kangleipak, is a state in northeast India, with the city of Imphal as its capital. It is bounded by the Indian states of Nagaland to the north, Mizoram to the south and Assam to the west.

Scholarship Details

  • Merit Scholarship Scheme for Class 10 and 12 Students, Manipur 2023 is an opportunity that is being offered by the Department of Education, Government of Manipur to financially help Class 10 and 12 passed students of the state.
  • The aim of this scheme is to promote education at the higher secondary level and encourage the academic and professional growth of the students. The selected candidates will receive a scholarship award of up to ₹12,000 per annum.
  • The first 300 selected candidates who have passed Class 10 will receive an annual scholarship for a period of 2 years. 
  • The first 125 students of Science, 125 students of Social Science, and 50 students of Commerce will receive an annual scholarship for a period of 3 years.

Eligibility

To be eligible, an applicant must: 

  • Be a domicile of Manipur.
  • Have passed Class 10 from the Board of Secondary Education (BSE) and Class 12 from the Council of Higher Secondary Examination (CHSE), Manipur.
  • The following candidates are ineligible to apply for the scholarship scheme:
    • Students who are receiving any other scholarship/stipend.
    • Working as full-time employees.
    • Students who have not passed the examination in the year prior to the award of the scholarship.

Scholarship Amount

  • Class 10: INR 6000 per annum.
  • Class 12: INR 12000 per annum.

Documents Required

  • Aadhaar card.
  • Bank statement.
  • Marksheet of the last passed examination.
  • Entitlement card and Statement of particulars filled by the Head of the Institution.
