By providing actionable information to the right people, in the right way and at the right time, PxD empowers people to improve their livelihoods, mitigate risks, advance environmental sustainability, and adapt to a changing climate. A majority of PxDs services deliver customized digital agricultural advice to smallholder farmers via their mobile phones. This pioneering model of agricultural extension is implemented in collaboration with partner organizations to maximize scale, and we continuously experiment, iterate, and gather evidence on impact to improve service delivery and demonstrate our value. PxD currently works in eleven countries in Africa, Asia, and Latin America, and is rapidly expanding as governments and organizations look for innovative ways to utilize new technologies to deliver actionable information to people who need it.

Job Description

PxD is looking for a driven and creative person to join a high-performing flexible team as an Intern – New Programs. The successful candidate will support partnership development, initial research and scoping, new program design, and fundraising efforts to implement operations in potential new geographies and new programs in existing geographies. You will work closely with relevant Program Leads, PxD’s Chief Development Officer and Director of New Programs, and the New Programs and Fundraising Team. 

This is an exciting opportunity to have a significant impact on PxD’s future development, as part of a friendly, high-performing and non-hierarchical team. The successful candidate will have the opportunities to work at the intersection of fundraising, program development, and implementation.

Job Responsibilities

  • Meeting with and developing partnerships with potential PxD partners
  • Desk research on the agriculture sector and other potential sectors in new geographies, target user populations, and other research topics for new programs
  • Program design and workplan and budget creation for new programs
  • Writing concept notes and proposals for potential PxD funders and partners

Location and work authorisation:

  • Remote, with preference for a PxD country office (including: Kenya, India, Pakistan, Colombia), with current and ongoing work authorisation.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Strong written and oral communication skills, in English 
  • Strong organization skills and attention to detail
  • Experience with fundraising and/or proposal development
  • Experience with partnership development
  • Desired: experience with different languages
