About The/Nudge:

The/Nudge is an action institute working towards a poverty-free India, within our lifetime. We partner with governments, markets, and civil society to build resilient livelihoods for all.  We are a collective of some of India’s best leaders and entrepreneurs from across the industry, academia, government, and development sectors, and our work is organized across three impact streams:

About the Opportunity

The Center for Rural Development at The/Nudge Institute is looking for two paid interns (currently pursuing Master’s in Rural Development/ Public Policy/ Social Work/ Development Studies/ Agriculture/ Animal Husbandry) for a month-long internship in rural areas of Kalaburagi & Bider districts in Northern Karnataka region.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • develop livelihood profiling including market analysis of the region with a special focus on poor rural women based on the pre-designed matrix
  • risk mapping of poor & vulnerable households and their mitigation mechanism based on the pre-designed matrix.
  • develop situation analysis case studies of poor & vulnerable households (social-economic, access to govt. entitlement, education, health, food security, income generating activity, migration, women participation in decision making)
  • duration ~30 full working days (6 hrs. per day excluding travel) excluding holidays (Sunday & public holidays)

Eligibility

  • are pursuing master’s in rural development / public policy / social work / development studies / agriculture / animal husbandry
  • are fluent in Kannada speaking
  • have good documentation skills in English
  • are comfortable in traveling & staying in rural areas {also paid}
