About the Program

The Government of Jharkhand has made intensive efforts in the past few years to strengthen its public health system. Despite these efforts the COVID-19 pandemic is posing a serious healthcare challenge to the state machinery. Till date the state has done well to keep the spread of the disease under control.

To further strengthen its response for COVID-19 and ensuring that the gains made in health and nutrition issues by the state do not slide back, the Govt. of Jharkhand supported by CSOs and the Azim Premji Philanthropic Initiatives (APPI) are launching an intensive action in select districts of South Jharkhand.

This ambitious program provides an opportunity to the best and the brightest young professionals to work closely with district level leadership to script a story of resilience and fight back the pandemic in one of India’s poorest and most backward regions.

Location

  • 5 Districts of Jharkhand ( Ranchi, Simdega, Lohardaga, Gumla, and Khunti)

Remuneration

  • Stipend of ₹80,000 per month

Eligibility

  • Either a 4-year Bachelor’s degree in a professional course or a post-graduate degree from a recognised university.
  • At least 3 years of full-time work experience for post graduates and 4 years of full-time work experience for undergraduates.
  • Has a good understanding of government systems, processes and protocols.
  • Prior experience of working with government and in public health is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Must be fluent in English and Hindi.
  • Must be comfortable in quickly adapting to new technological products.
  • Must be well versed in MS Office (PPT, Word, Excel, etc.)

  • Articulate your managerial accomplishment at scale by implementing public health system strengthening efforts at district as well as sub-district levels.
  • Introduce & nurture cutting-edge technology for evidence-based planning for priority health & nutrition interventions.
  • Establish long-term collaborative relationships with leading CSOs, CSRs and other agencies.
