Eligibility
- For Graduate Apprenticeship Trainees: A degree in engineering or technology granted by statutory University/ by an institution empowered to award such degree by Act of Parliament.
- For Technician (Diploma) Apprenticeship Trainee: A diploma in engineering or technology granted by a State Council or Board of Technical. Educational established by a State Government /by a University I by an Institute recognized by the State Government or Central Government as equivalent to a diploma/ Sandwich course student who is undergoing training in order that he/she may hold a diploma in Engg./Technology
- Age: Minimum Age – 18 & Maximum Age- UR: 27 yrs; OBC: 30 yrs; ST/SC: 32 yrs; PwD: 37 yrs
- Candidates who have already undergone apprenticeship training or at present undergoing apprenticeship training under any organization are not eligible to apply.
- Candidates with more than one year work experience are not eligible to apply. Candidate who have completed three years after passing of the qualifying examination are not eligible to apply
- Candidates with higher qualification are not eligible to apply.
Stipend
- B. E/B. Tech/Eqvt. : Rs 9000/- per month & Diploma: Rs 8000/- per month

- Applications are to be submitted online through this link or from the official website of DRDO.
Selection Process
- Graduate Apprentice Trainees (B.E/B.Tech./Equivalent); Diploma Apprentice Trainees: Depending upon the vacancies available in various disciplines, selection of candidates will be carried out by short listing on the basis of marks obtained in the qualifying exam.
Important Dates
- Last date of submission of online application forms duly completed in all respects: Dec 10
- Publishing list of candidates for certificate verification after scrutinizing of applications in DRDO website or by email : Dec 16
- Acceptance by candidates to join CAIR as Apprenticeship Trainee: Dec 20
- Interaction with the shortlisted candidates who have submitted acceptance to join (as per ‘c’ above) : Dec 22 onwards
- Probable date of declaration of selected candidatesGraduate/Diploma apprenticeship (by email & CAIR notice board) : Dec 27
- Probable date of joining at CAIR for Graduate/Diploma apprentices : Dec 30
