Delhi School of Social Work is one of the premier schools of social work in India and the first graduate school of social work in Asia to be recognized by a University. It is formally known as the department of social work of University of Delhi.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Candidates with a Bachelor’s Degree or its equivalent in any discipline with minimum 55% marks or equivalent grade point from any recognised Indian or Foreign University;
  • Candidates with Bachelors Degree in Social Work with minimum 50% marks or equivalent grade point from any recognised Indian or Foreign University;
  • Candidates appearing in the final year examination of the Bachelor’s degree are also eligible to apply subject to the criteria listed above.

Centres for the Entrance Test

Selection Procedure

  • The selection procedure for M.A. Social Work Programme will consist of two components, Entrance Test and Panel Interview
  1. Entrance Test
  • The Entrance Test is designed to assess the aptitude and the suitability of the candidate to work as a human service professional.
  • There is no prescribed syllabus for the Entrance Test. However, the Entrance Test will include questions assessing the understanding of contemporary social, political and economic issues and concerns and analytical ability of candidates.
  • Written Carries 85 percent weight-age.

2. Panel Interview

  • There shall be panel interview for all categories of candidates who are shortlisted on the basis of their merit in the Entrance Test.
  • The Panel Interview will be held at the Department of Social Work, University of Delhi to assess the suitability of candidates for the course. 
  • Interview carries 15 percent weight-age.
  • The Final Merit list will be prepared for each category separately on the basis of the marks secured by the candidates in the Entrance Test and Panel Interview.
