About Aaghaz Foundation
Aaghaz Foundation is a non-profit organization that was founded in 2004 by journalist Mazhar Farooqui and his friends in Lucknow.
The primary aim was to ensure that the crucial years of childhood of young boys and girls from underprivileged communities was not lost wandering around streets, but in fact improved by empowering each of them to their best capabilities.

About the Scholarship
Danish Siddiqui was a Pulitizer prize winning Indian Photojournalist who died in action in July 2021 while covering a clash between Afghan security forces and Taliban in Kandahar.
Eligibility for the Danish Siddiqui Memorial Scholarship
- Students whose parents have an annual income of Rs. 3,50,00 or less.
- The scholarship will be awarded on the basis of academic merit and financial needs.
Scholarship Amount
- Amount of Rs. 50,000/- annually will be provided for an undergraduate student pursuing a career in Journalism from a reputed Indian university.
