Responsibilities:

As a Research Intern in the Energy Transitions team, your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Conducting in-depth research on post-consumer waste management operations and job opportunities in circular economy sectors.
  • Collecting and analyzing data, including stakeholder consultations and field visits to understand waste management phases and associated jobs.
  • Collaborating with researchers, agencies, civil society organizations, and state officials to validate research findings and ensure relevance and implementation.
  • Communicating research findings through articles, presentations, and educational materials to various audiences.
  • Identifying new research opportunities and advancements in the circular economy field.

Selection Criteria:

To be eligible for this position, you should have the following qualifications and skills:

  • Qualification: Master’s degree or graduate in environmental engineering, environmental management, waste management, urban planning, or related fields.
  • Work Experience: 0-1 year (candidates pursuing Master’s can apply).
  • Key Skills: Strong stakeholder management, data analysis, and communication skills. Proficiency in MS Excel and programming languages like Python is beneficial. Proficiency in Hindi and English is a must; Oriya is desirable.
  • Personality: Willingness to work on multi-disciplinary projects, learn new research skills, and find creative solutions. Ability to work independently, adapt to tight deadlines, and thrive in an interdisciplinary and multicultural environment.
