Paschimbanga Khetmajoor Samity (PBKMS), an independent trade union in West Bengal, India, promotes the rights of agricultural workers to decent wages, work and food. More than half of its membership consists of women.
PBKMS organises agricultural workers in West Bengal and has been involved in many trade union, human rights and development struggles for more than two decades.

About the Job Opportunity
Paschim Banga Khet Majoor Samity is looking for a young person , preferably a woman or from the LGBTQ community willing to be associated with people’s movements and support grassroots advocacy initiatives.
Location:
- Madhyamgram, North 24 Parganas, West Bengal
Eligibility
Qualification and Experience:
- Minimum educational qualification is of a graduate with good language skills
- Post graduate in social work/development studies/relevant social science disciplines would be an additional qualification
- Minimum 1 year of experience in similar profile(s) will be preferred.
Skills and Competencies:
- A strong desire to fight injustice and fight for the vulnerable
- Strong Interpersonal skills, and comfort in interacting with rural workers
- Proficiency in use of MS Office package and Adobe Photoshop
- Comfort in using social media handles
- Ability to converse and write fluently in Bengali and English
- Ability to read , write and converse in Hindi would be considered an added asset
- Willingness to travel within West Bengal to rural areas.
