Job Summary

The primary purpose of this role is to meet the business objectives set by our country’s Business Clients segment. This involves customer-focused, need-based selling to deepen customer relationships and maximize market penetration.

Responsibilities

Business:

  • Achieve sales targets for Business Loans.
  • Focus on specific customer segments and engage in needs-based selling.
  • As a Business Development Manager in Business Banking, your main focus will be acquiring new SME customer relationships and meeting their needs related to Business Loans, as well as other financial products such as Assets, Liabilities, Insurance, and Investments, as required by the Bank.
  • Cross-sell various products to deepen customer relationships.

Processes:

  • Ensure operational quality by managing error-free customer applications and documentation.
  • Engage in responsive and responsible selling.
  • Apply appropriate sales and marketing skills.
  • Strive for zero customer complaints.

Governance:

  • Conduct client due diligence meticulously.
  • Have zero tolerance for fraud and mis-selling.
  • Attend training sessions to acquire knowledge and apply it to your job function.
  • Comply with all policies, guidelines, procedures, and local regulatory requirements.
  • Report any suspicious activity to the Unit Money Laundering Prevention Officer and your line manager as part of anti-money laundering procedures.

  • Uphold exemplary conduct and adhere to the Group’s Values and Code of Conduct.
  • Take personal responsibility for promoting the highest ethical standards, including regulatory and business conduct, throughout Standard Chartered Bank.
  • Understand and ensure compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, guidelines, and the Group Code of Conduct.
  • Work towards achieving the outcomes outlined in the Bank’s Conduct Principles.
  • Collaborate effectively to identify, escalate, mitigate, and resolve risk, conduct, and compliance matters.

Our Ideal Candidate

  • Must be a graduate; MBA qualifications would be advantageous.
  • Candidates with at least 1 year of sales experience in the Retail Banking Industry, especially in areas like SB Lap, BIL, BWC, Insurance, and Current Accounts, are preferred.
  • Candidates with AMFI, IRDA, and other relevant certifications will be given preference.
  • Good knowledge of the selected market and customer segments is advantageous.
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills with the ability to influence outcomes.
  • Strong interpersonal skills that encourage and promote enthusiasm and team spirit.

Role Specific Technical Competencies

  • Proficiency in MS Excel.
  • Proficiency in MS Outlook.
