Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has invited applications to fill 8 vacant positions in Research Officer (Implementation) in the Regional Implementation Offices, Department of Official Languages, Ministry of Home Affairs.

Positon

  • Research Officer (Implementation)
  • These posts are permanent, classified as General Central Service, Group’B’ Gazetted, Non-Ministerial.

Pay Scale: 

  • Level-07 in the Pay Matrix as per 7th CPC. 

Probation

  • 2 Years

Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification: 
  • Master’s degree of a recognised University in Hindi with English as compulsory or elective subject or as the medium of examination at the degree level; or 
  • Master’s degree of a recognised University in English with Hindi as a compulsory or elective subject or as the medium of examination at the degree level; or
  • Master’s degree of a recognised University in any subject other than Hindi or English with Hindi medium and English as a compulsory or elective subject or as the medium of an examination at the degree level; or
  • Master’s degree of a recognised University in any subject other than Hindi or English with English medium and Hindi as a compulsory or elective subject or as the medium of an examination at the degree level; or
  • Master’s degree of a recognised University in any subject other than Hindi or English with Hindi and English as a compulsory or elective subject or either of the two as a medium of an examination and the other as a compulsory or elective subject at the degree level. 
  • NOTE: I: Qualifications are relaxable at the discretion of the UPSC, for reasons to be recorded in writing, in the case of candidates otherwise well qualified. 
  • NOTE:II: The qualification(s) regarding experience is/are relaxable at the discretion of the UPSC, for reasons to be recorded in writing in the case of candidates belonging to the Scheduled Castes, if at any stage of selection the UPSC, is of the opinion that sufficient number of candidates from this community possessing the requisite experience are not likely to be available to fill up the vacancies reserved for them. 

Age Limit

  • UR category: should not be more than 30 years as on normal closing date;
  • SC category: Should not be more than 35 years;
  • Candidates falling under OBC and PwBD categories should not be more than 33 years and 40 years respectively;

Duties

  • (i)To comply with the orders given by the Head of Office and perform the activities under the directions of Head of Office.
  • ii) To inspect the Central Government offices, Under takings, Banks etc. located in the region in terms of implementation of Official Language Policy.
  • (iii) To participate in the Town Official Language Implementation Committee, Departmental Official language Implementation Committee as per the directions of the Head of Office.
  • (iv) Assist the the Deputy Director (Implementation) in monitoring of the Annual Programme issued by the Department of Official Language, MHA.
  • (v) To review the Quarterly Progress Report and to assist the senior officers in these work.
  • (vi) To Submit the Dak/Receipts in the office of Deputy Director/Assistant Director 

Any Other Conditions: 

  • Required to serve any Office of the eight Regional Implementation Offices (Delhi, Ghaziabad, Bhopal, Mumbai, Kolkata, Guwahati, Bangalore and Cochin).
  • These posts are permanent, classified as General Central Service, Group’B’ Gazetted, Non-Ministerial.
