About the Fellowship
The Municipal Administration and Urban Development Department, Government of Telangana and the Administrative Staff College of India, a national level institution of excellence is pleased to offer Urban Leaders Fellowship (ULF) aimed to provide an opportunity to bright professionals who are passionate about urban systems and public service to be part of Telangana’s urban transformation journey.
ULF is a scholarship based, 24-month, full time, multi-disciplinary program based at Hyderabad. It is designed to provide theoretical underpinning and field-based experience of working on live projects in diverse areas of urban practice with continuous mentorship support from a team of academics and urban practitioners.
ULF takes a scientific approach to making cities more habitable, resilient, and sustainable. It aims to nurture young professional as urban leaders who would develop innovative and sustainable solutions for addressing some of the most pressing urban challenges such as unplanned growth, economic inequality, lack of access to safe water and sanitation, public health concerns, and the climate crisis.

Eligibility
- ULF provides an excellent opportunity for young and mid-career professionals who are eager to learn and contribute to building excellence in urban systems. It is open to outstanding professionals from various educational backgrounds and practice domains.
- The applicants must at the minimum have completed a masters level qualification and have a minimum of three years of work experience in any field.
- Candidates meeting the following criteria would be most suitable for the fellowship:
- Superior academic performance and achievement
- Demonstration of outstanding achievements and leadership potential
- Demonstration of passion for urban systems and public service
- Ability to bring corporate principles and experiences to benefit urban system.
- Excellent written communication skills
Benefits
- The selected candidates will receive remuneration ranging between Rs. 50,000 – 1,00,000 per month basis the level of experience and as decided by the selection committee.
- Placement support would be extended to the candidates upon successful completion of the fellowship
Selection Process
- Shortlisting of the applications
- Written test forshortlisted applicants
- Two rounds of in-person interview with a panel of experts from academia, government, and civil society.

- Date for the First List of Candidates –15 June 2022
- Written test – Last week of June 2022 Interviews – First week of July 2022
- Date for the Final List of Candidates – Second week of July 2022
- Beginning Date of Fellowship – August 2022**
