Position Description
- The Senior Project Associate will work under the supervision of the Program Director, implementing Parisar’s activities under the ‘Mobilizing community support for low carbon mobility (LCM) in Maharashtra’s cities’ project.
- This role is based in Pune and candidates will be traveling to different cities in Maharashtra as and when required.
About You
- The ideal candidate will have prior and sound experience working in an NGO or company focused on sustainability, environment or urban development, and will be comfortable in an interdisciplinary and diverse NGO environment that works in partnership and collaboration with different stakeholders. You are a flexible and adaptable team-player.
- You have excellent campaign and advocacy skills. You have expertise in project management, implementation and grantee oversight. You are fluent in English and have a willingness to travel.
Required Qualifications:
- Master’s Degree – Humanities, Urban Planning, Urban Studies, Environment Science, Transport Planning, or related fields.
- 3-4 years of experience in the development sector.
- Computer skills including MS Office, G Suite, etc.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Broad understanding of sustainable development and mobility.
- Proficiency in spoken and written English.
- Organizing successful stakeholder engagement meetings, conferences, as well as public events.
- Report writing
Desirable Qualifications:
- Experience with organizations working on environment or transportation
- Flexible and willing to perform tasks outside of the current scope to help the organization grow
- Proficiency in spoken and/or written Marathi and Hindi
- Writing grants and proposals
Primary Responsibilities:
- Supporting Parisar in the overall management and implementation of the ‘Low Carbon Mobility initiatives in cities of Maharashtra’ project.
- Responsible for overall monitoring and reporting progress of the project to the senior management, funders and the public in general.
- Coordinating with Parisar team and external partners for development of appropriate communication materials, documents, advocacy briefs, and related materials to drive key project activities.
- Conceptualizing, strategizing and collectively devising advocacy action plans with different stakeholders and partners.
- Collaborating with partners in different cities of Maharashtra
- Developing relevant government, media and sectoral partnerships to facilitate stakeholder engagement and alignment.
- Ensuring accurate and timely management of the funds and track budget utilization with support from the Finance team
- Setting up contracts and developing contract schedules in conjunction with associates, volunteers and partners.
- Collaborating with the Parisar team during city-based and organizational events and important campaign and advocacy activations.
- Writing articles for Parisar website and newsletter.
- Supporting capacity building activities and being part of them as and when required.
- Any other duties in line with the job role as requested by the Program Director.

- Parisar has a fair and competitive salary structure that allows for annual progression subject to good performance.
