About the Organization
The Public Health Foundation of India (PHFI) is working towards building a healthier India. It is helping to address the limited institutional and systems capacity in India by strengthening education and training, advancing research and technology and facilitating policy and practice in the area of Public Health.
PHFI is headquartered in New Delhi with national presence through its constituent units of regional Indian Institutes of Public Health (IIPHs) and Centers of Applied Research in core public health themes. The Foundation, established in 2006 as a public private initiative, is governed by an independent board comprising of senior government officials, eminent Indian and International academic and leaders, civil society representatives and corporate leaders.
About the Position:Research Associate/ Senior Research Associate
Project Brief:
As a Centre of Excellence at PHFI, the Ramalingaswami Centre on Equity & Social Determinants of Health has a strong track record of grounded empirical research on disadvantaged populations in low-income settings, developing innovative analytical methods, supporting public health services to become more effective and equity-enhancing, and engaging in training, teaching and policy advocacy at the state, national, regional and global levels. The Centre is looking out for a competent researcher with domain knowledge, quantitative and/or qualitative analytical skills and field insights to support its research workstreams.

Roles and Responsibilities
- Conducting literature reviews on specific topics as determined by evolving research priorities and collating relevant materials in a usable format.
- Helping to conceptualize research questions based on gaps in available evidence.
- Contributing to the development of quantitative and/or qualitative research designs, including research tools and data collection strategies; data management and analytical plans.
- Undertaking travel as and when required for field work.
- Analysing quantitative and/or qualitative data.
- Preparing reports and contributing to manuscripts for publication, as required.
- Contributing to developing plans for dissemination of research findings to relevant stakeholders.
- Carrying out other tasks as assigned by the Director
Qualification:
- Desirable:Master’s in Public Health, Social Work, Social Sciences, Development Studies.
- Desirable Experience:Around 4-5 years of experience in related field.

Roles and Responsibilities
- Conducting literature reviews on specific topics as determined by evolving research priorities and collating relevant materials in a usable format.
- Conceptualizing research questions based on gaps in available evidence.
- Taking the lead in developing quantitative and/or qualitative research designs, including research tools and data collection strategies; data management and analytical plans.
- Supervising fieldwork as required.
- Analysing and synthesizing quantitative and/or qualitative data.
- Contributing to manuscripts for submission in peer-reviewed journals.
- Contributing to plans for dissemination of research findings to relevant stakeholders.
- Teaching in academic / training programmes as required
- Travel as and when required.
- Any other task as assigned by the Supervisor/PI.
Qualification:
- Masters / PhD is Public Health, Social Work, Social Sciences
- Desirable Experience:Around 6-8 Years of experience
