Position Description
At Guidehouse, the Energy Analyst is someone who demonstrates qualitative and quantitative research expertise with an emphasis on synthesize data and trends from a variety of sources to develop strategic insights that will become the foundation of Guidehouse Insights Energy Technologies research programs across distributed energy, storage, microgrids and clean technologies. The Energy Analyst will collect, streamline, and standardize data and insights; conduct analysis to help Subject Matter Experts; and improve performance across different programs through content creation. In addition, this person will be responsible for doing custom research based on specific queries.

As such the Analyst should have a strong business acumen and the ability to leverage a wide array of data and research analysis techniques to develop innovative recommendations. The ideal candidate is passionate about different secondary and primary research approaches, interpreting data, providing thought leadership/insights, and making recommendations in line with business goals.
Responsibilities
- Collecting, synthesizing, and translating information from varied sources into cohesive commentary on the market size potential and impacts of technology trends
- Authoring qualitative research reports, and other professional literature for a variety of audiences
- Producing quantitative analyses and market forecasts
- Supporting customized market research projects
- Conducting primary research interviews
- Understand high level client requirements, elaborate to details, work with the team to define solution and provide recommendations back to the customer based on qualitative / quantitative research
- Design and implement technology best practices, guidelines, and repeatable processes
- Must be able to perform duties with moderate to low supervision
- Timeline and accuracy of output to be maintained all the time
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s and 1-3 years of experience in research/consulting work experience
- Excellent quantitative skills and ability to interpret data from multiple sources, excellent knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
- Naturally curious and passionate about numbers, data, insights and applications
- Excellent communication skills; able to interact stakeholders at different levels and present take-away insights
- Capable of anticipating potential issues/problems and developing solutions when needed
Mandatory Skills
- Experience working on large datasets in MS Excel
- Experience working on Excel Dashboards, Reports and Corporate Slide decks
- Experience Working on automated MS word and MS PowerPoint dashboards
