About Praja Elected Representatives Fellowship Programme
The Praja Fellowship program is designed to challenge the participating fellows to understand the ground-level realities to do with governance and understand the powers and functions of a Councillor while working alongside them. Praja is conducting this program for the newly elected Councillors from the 2017 MCGM elections. Fellows would be placed with a group of elected representatives, so as to assist her/him to discharge their functions effectively.
We are pleased to announce the 4th Cohort of Praja’s ER Fellowship for the year 2022-23. This iteration of the fellowship will be physically held and college students will have an opportunity to work with elected representatives (MLAs and Municipal Councillors) in Mumbai. The fellowship will give the students an in-depth understanding of the ground-level realities of urban governance and help them to understand the powers and functions of elected representatives. The fellowship is symbiotic in nature and it will also allow elected representatives to access and understand data related to their wards as the fellows will provide research assistance to them.

Eligibility for the fellowship
- Any motivated and dedicated student pursuing his/her graduation or post-graduation is an ideal candidate as long as he/she is willing to work for 20 hours a week for 10 months.
Duration
- 10 Months Paid Fellowship
- Work with an elected representative varies. Fellows need to fulfil 20 hours a week irrespective of any other commitment.
