Responsibility:

Test Requirement Analysis

  • Utilize shift-left techniques like Requirement Ambiguity Matrix, ADPART, and other accelerators to identify requirement defects.
  • Conduct Knowledge Transfer (KT) on user stories.
  • Estimate design efforts based on requirement analysis.
  • Create test scripts for critical technology areas and seek review inputs from the test lead.
  • Analyze requirements to identify testable components.
  • Prioritize requirements based on time.
  • Prepare high-level flow documents.
  • Organize and lead requirement walkthrough sessions.
  • Review flow diagrams and clarify requirements with the customer.
  • Perform Proof of Concepts or evaluate tools if necessary.

Test Strategy and Test Planning

  • Document test plans, covering project details, scope, testing types, assumptions, risks, entry/exit criteria.
  • Seek client signoff on test plans.
  • Provide inputs for test plan creation, including the number of test scenarios and cases used for estimation.
  • Collaborate in sprint goal definition sessions.
  • Participate in status calls/meetings with teams.

Test Design Techniques (Design principles/tools/patterns):

  • Identify test scenarios based on system understanding.
  • Recognize business-critical scenarios.
  • Assist development team in unit test automation, environment dependencies, deployment strategies, etc.
  • Create and review test scenarios.
  • Identify and validate scenarios for automation.
  • Perform In-Sprint automation.
  • Maintain automation scripts.
  • Share test scripts with lead for review.
  • Pilot automation tests for validation.
  • Validate test environment setup.
  • Participate in customer review meetings.

Coding Practices & Defect Management:

  • Estimate and commit task effort and deliver on time.
  • Communicate effectively in technical discussions.
  • Participate in Performance Development Process.
  • Understand full development lifecycle.
  • Participate in defect triages.
  • Track defect metrics.

Test Execution (Automation/Specialized testing):

  • Execute tests and update status.
  • Conduct root cause analysis of defects.
  • Perform dry run/smoke testing.
  • Perform high-level/Sanity testing.
  • Update Test Lead/Manager on automation status.
  • Develop test scripts using technology concepts.
  • Create test automation frameworks.
  • Integrate tests into continuous integration processes.
  • Coordinate with stakeholders for go/no-go decisions.
  • Monitor, analyze, and optimize test results.
  • Support Continuous Integration (CI) setup and maintenance.
  • Handle volume spikes and prioritize tasks.

Technology Consulting Research & Analysis:

  • Support timetomarket activities.

  • Perform feasibility studies for new technologies/frameworks.
  • Conduct code coverage analysis.
