Founded in 1999, India HIV/AIDS Alliance (Alliance India) is a diverse partnership that brings together committed organisations and communities to support sustained responses to HIV in India. Complementing the Indian national programme, the organisation works through capacity building, knowledge sharing, technical support and advocacy. Headquartered in New Delhi, the organisation implements programmes across India, with the support of more than 450 organisations. Alliance India’s programmes are operational in all states and Union Territories and complement the national HIV response of the National AIDS Control Organization (NACO), in coordination with the State AIDS Prevention and Control Societies(SACS) and State Networks.

Job Description:
Reporting to the Senior Programme Manager: Private Sector Engagement, the State Coordinators (SCs)shall be responsible for overall management of the private sector engagement component of Alliance India grants at the state level, along with mentoring of prioritised ART Centres, as per the directives of NACO.
Placed at the State Headquarters, the SCs shall be responsible for ensuring effective coordination of private sector engagement and capacity building activities, for prioritized ART centres. The post-holders shall also be expected to build a good rapport and working relationship with the Joint Director-Care, Support & Treatment,in their designated state.
Key Job Responsibilities:
- Lead the coordination of Private Sector Engagement related activities at the assigned State with SACS and Vihaan programme partners;
- Organise state/regional level coordination meetings with SACS and private sector practitioners, providing services to PLHIV;
- Conduct mapping of Private Practitioners/providers in the assigned state;
- Undertake regular assessment of prioritised ART Centres as scored by predefined NACO criteria;
- Lead in developing state level capacity building plans for ART Centres, private practitioners and Medical Colleges;
- Coordinate with Principals/Deans of Private Medical Colleges and Medical Superintendents/Director of District Hospitals/Other Hospitals for improved coordination of ART services, with other health activities at centres;
Eligibility
Qualifications
- Post graduate degree in Medicine,or other clinical discipline,or Preventive and Social Medicine or Community Medicine or Master’s in Public Health or Diploma in Public Health/Health Management or M.Sc. or Fellowship in HIV Medicineor PG Diploma in HIV Medicine.
Experience
- Minimum two to five years of experience of working in the field of HIV/AIDS;
- Experience of working in private sector engagement related programmes at the state level;
- Hands on experience in programme conceptualisation and management at the state level;
- Experience of collaborating with community organisations and groups to deliver excellent HIV and health interventions;
- Experience of providing technical support to, and capacity building of organisations, especially those working at the community or grassroots level.
- The position requires a strong commitment to HIV/AIDS and Sexual and Reproductive Health and Civil Society initiatives in India, along with demonstrated interest in engaging with relevant issues relating to the same.
