Indian Grameen Services (IGS) is looking for a development professional to work as Field Executive in a Regenerative Agriculture based Livelihoods Project at Mangalajodi in Khordha district of Odisha.

It was set up in 1987 for promoting livelihood opportunities in rural and forest areas to extend support services necessary for promoting livelihood opportunities in rural areas. Role Description

  • The candidate is expected to involve in training and capacity building of the farmers on regenerative agricultural practices including use of organic manures, bio-inputs, zero-tillage, mulching, intercropping, crop diversification, etc., execution of the same with continuous hand-holding support and convergence of relevant schemes from government departments.
  • The candidate will report to the Team Leader and provide guidance to the field staffs. In addition, support community participation with a sense of teamwork on ground.
  • To be successful in this role, you need to process all necessary activities required to restore soil fertility and manage the farm biodiversity. Ideal candidates are result driven, meticulous, and observant.

Skills required

  • Knowledge on principles and practices of soil fertility and nutrient management, practices of regenerative farming in specific and ecological/ natural/organic farming in general, analytical techniques and instrumental methods in soil and crop analysis.
  • Applicants must possess documentation and report writing skill 
  • Strong presentation and communication skills 
  • Proven ability to work proactively, independently and as part of a multi-sectoral team in a multi-cultural environment 
  • Effective organizational, coordination and administrative skills is an advantage 

Qualifications

  • Full time Post Graduate degree in Soil Science/ Agriculture Economics and Farm Management/ Soil and water management/ Agriculture and Food Business or in equivalent field.
  • Must have minimum of 2-3 years of proven work experience in working with farming communities on ground, preferably in Ecological/ Natural/ Organic/ Regenerative agriculture.
