Our initiatives include public lectures, business discussions, policy roundtables, leadership programmes, cultural summits, musical performances, film screenings, and an annual gala honouring Asian artists.
The India Centre enhances dialogue, encourages creative expression, and generates ideas in the areas of business and policy, and arts and culture. Inaugurated in 2006 by Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, the India Centre has hosted over 700 events, establishing itself as a leading public education platform and an important forum for the discussion of regional and global affairs.

DESCRIPTION:
The Social Media Intern will assist the Asia Society India Centre programming team in conceptualising, designing and publishing social media content. They will assist in all aspects of content creation, including design, marketing, and outreach. They will be a critical member of a dynamic, multicultural team, and have a voice in shaping the activities and visibility of Asia Society India Centre.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
The responsibilities of the Intern will include but are not limited to:
- Assisting the communications officer with all social media activity across Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, YouTube, and any other digital platforms.
- Conceptualising content (written, graphic and video), designing posts and writing innovative and engaging captions tailored to each platform
- Coordinating with the programming team to maintain the organisation’s social media calendar, pre- and post-event summaries and video highlights
- Study social media analytics on a regular basis to help increase audience engagement on social media
REQUIREMENTS:
The applicant must:
- Possess or be currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s degree in the humanities, marketing or communications
- Have a keen interest in audience development, social media, and the digital medium more broadly.
- Have strong written and communication skills, knowledge of photo-editing platforms and web designing tools will be preferred.
- Be proficient in Canva (familiarity with InDesign or Photoshop is a plus)
- Have the ability to work independently, while concurrently functioning as a member of the team
- Have detail-oriented administrative capabilities
- Have a demonstrated commitment to and knowledge of current political, economic, and cultural policies and developments in India and South Asia
- Have proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Be comfortable working in a multi-cultural, fast-paced environment.
