Population Foundation of India is a national non-profit organisation (NGO),which promotes and advocates for the effective formulation and implementation of gender sensitive population, health and development strategies and policies.

The organisation was founded in 1970 by a group of industrialists under the leadership of the late JRD Tata and Dr Bharat Ram.

About the Opportunity

Population Foundation of India is looking to onboard a talented young graduate as a full-time intern for its Communications vertical.

Duration

  • The internship will be for a period of 3 months

Location

  • We expect the intern to work out of our office in New Delhi.

Stipend

  • We will be providing a stipend of Rs 11,000 per month. 

Roles and Responsibilities

The responsibilities for the role will include:

  • Report writing and copy-proofing
  • Assist in the design and implementation of digital Social and Behavior Change Campaigns (SBCC)
  • Managing Social Media handles
  • Assist in design work (on Canva)
  • Coordinating video shoots and other multimedia work
  • Assist in vendor management

Scope of Work

The internship will include work on the following projects:

  • 1. Improving awareness about Gender and Sexuality amongst teachers, parents and adolescents.
  • 2. Increasing access and choice in contraceptives
  • 3. Advocating for policies that promote Gender empowerment
  • 4. Increasing community demand for quality public healthcare services
  • 5. Assisting State Govts in implementing their healthcare programs

Eligibility

  • While we do not require the candidate to have prior work/internship experience, the ideal candidate should possess the following qualities/skills:
    • Excellent writing skills in English and Hindi
    • Great aesthetic sense, and experience using design software
    • Experience managing social media profiles on Twitter, Instagram, Facebook and Linkedin. 
    • Passionate about Gender, Sexuality, and Public Health issues
  • Please note: This is not a part-time or remote role. We would require the selected candidate to work 9-5 from our office in New Delhi for the duration of the internship.
