Land Rights Initiative “LRI” at the Centre for Policy Research “CPR” was created in November 2014 as an institutional space for building systematic knowledge on issues of law and justice relating to land and other social and economic rights that are essential for living a life with dignity under Article 21 of the Constitution. LRI currently houses research projects on property rights; social and economic rights, including the rights to health and water; land acquisition; land rights of Scheduled Tribes in Scheduled Areas; plural land regimes; mapping land legislation in India, and using data analytics on legal texts.

About the Internship Opportunity

LRI is looking to hire a research intern with an educational background in social sciences. The candidate must have a demonstrable interest in issues relating to land rights and policy in India from a socio-legal perspective. A research intern at LRI is expected to help with qualitative and quantitative research – which includes data cleaning and analysis, assisting in literature reviews, and compiling policy briefs.

Eligibility

  1. Be enrolled in the Third Year of a Bachelors’ degree/ in a Masters’ degrees from a reputed institution, in social science disciplines (economics/political science/social anthropology/development studies etcetera);
  2. Have relevant experience in research or public policy domain;
  3. Be skilled in quantitative research, and proficient in using Microsoft Office Suite (Excel/PowerPoint/Word);
  4. Possess excellent research and writing skills;
  5. Have a curiosity to learn, a commitment to research, and the ability to be a team player;
  6. Prior experience in quantitative research and basic knowledge of data analysis software, especially MS Excel/R Studio
