Otis Worldwide Corporation (branded as the Otis Elevator Company, its former legal name) is an American company that develops, manufactures and markets elevators, escalators, moving walkways, and related equipment.
Responsibilities of the Intern:
- Conduct visits to various suppliers and perform tear-down of cables to measure the actual weight of the copper.
- Compare the actual weight with the theoretical weight and document the variances.
- Analyze the data collected to identify patterns or discrepancies in cable weight among suppliers.
- Visit suppliers and conduct a cycle time study for higher runner parts in the wiring harness process.
- Observe the manufacturing process and record the time taken for each step.
- Analyze the data collected to identify opportunities for improvement in cycle time and efficiency.
Requirements:
- Pursuing a degree in Engineering or a related field.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Detail-oriented with the ability to collect and analyze data accurately.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Willingness to visit suppliers and work in a hands-on environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and data analysis tools is a plus.
