About the Role:
Canva is looking for passionate Freelance Photographers in India to join their Contractor Photography Pool, led by the in-house Canva Photo Production Team. This is a part-time freelance opportunity for an initial 12-month period. Canva’s photo library encompasses a range of fresh, varied, and beautiful photos, and they are seeking self-motivated photographers who love creative freedom in responding to briefs in various categories including Portrait, Fashion, Trends, Sports, Still Life/Product, Food, and Landscapes/Architecture.
As part of the hiring process, you will be required to conduct an initial test shoot to assess your communication skills, capacity to meet production deadlines, ability to maintain quality standards, and execution of ideas provided in the creative brief.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate closely with the Canva Photo Production Team during the pre-production stage.
- Cast a diverse set of models and book appropriate studio/locations, securing signed model/property releases when applicable.
- Book relevant creative collaborators when appropriate (e.g., hair and makeup artist, fashion stylist) and source props within the provided allowance.
- Shoot based on creative briefs directed by the Canva Photo Production Team and in line with technical guidelines.
- Meet production deadlines efficiently.
- Submit a refined set of photos, selecting only the best clips per layout.
Qualifications:
- Online portfolio showcasing your photography work.
- Exceptional understanding of photography fundamentals with a proven track record of delivering high-quality photos.
- Proficiency in post-production software such as Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Lightroom, or similar tools.
- Good command of English and your local language.
- Ownership or full access to photography equipment.
- Experience in sourcing talents/locations and securing releases.
- Efficient storyteller with the ability to run production within an allotted timeline.
