Oxford Kashmir Forum is conducting the second edition of its free online course on ‘International Human Rights Law and Kashmir: Prospects and Challenges’, running from May 7 – July 2, 2022.
About Oxford Kashmir Forum
Oxford Kashmir Forum (OxKF) is a network of Kashmiri scholars, academics, and students at the University of Oxford, working on, and interested in, issues of human rights, rule of law, politics, and policy related to the region of Kashmir in South Asia.
About the Course
The course will combine theory and practice to offer insights into international human rights law (IHRL) and its enforcement/ application in Kashmir.
It will see lectures by the likes of Prof Philipa Webb (King’s College London), Prof Yuval Shany (Former Chair of the UN Human Rights Committee), Priya Gopalan (Member, UN Working Group on Arbitrary Detention) and Dr Fozia Lone (City University of Hong Kong), among others.
This course is primarily open to law students, but we also welcome applications from others with a demonstrated experience, understanding or interest in human rights law.

Eligibility
- This course is primarily open to law students and graduates; students of other disciplines with a demonstrated experience, understanding or interest in law, particularly human rights law.
- However, lawyers, social workers and, other humanitarian practitioners who wish to become acquainted with international human rights legal framework and its application in Kashmir are also eligible to apply.
