About MakerGhat:

MakerGhat is an education non-profit looking for audacious and driven individuals to nurture India’s youth to become entrepreneurs and leaders. Our team is comprised of education and design experts from Stanford and Georgia Tech, non-profit and industry leaders (such as the ex-CEO of GiveIndia and Pratham), educators, entrepreneurs (Forbes 30 under 30 co-founder), and makers of all ages! We partner closely with government, and leading nonprofit, corporate, and research institutions to implement high quality programs on entrepreneurial thinking and hands-on making in school and college level.

Job Overview:

MakerGhat is looking for a highly motivated individual to join the Founder’s Office! This is a senior-level position, and involves working closely with the co-founders on a range of operations, project management, fundraising, and partnership tasks, while working in a tight-knit team. The role is remote, but around 20% of your time may be spent on travel, mostly in South India (especially in Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu).

  • Start Date: Immediate
  • Reports to: Co-Founders
  • CTC: INR 10 to 16 Lakhs (willing to be competitive, compensation not a barrier)

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Identify, develop, and maintain strategic partnerships with government, non-profit, university, and corporate institutions
  • Build budgets and fundraising documents
  • Research legal compliance procedures
  • Develop and execute marketing plans to extend program reach
  • Support communication (newsletters, press releases, social media content, etc.)
  • Actively think about equity and inclusion—across gender, place, and socioeconomic disparities

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years experience in product, partnerships, sales, or business development
  • Passionate about hands-on and interdisciplinary learning
  • Have an entrepreneurial mindset to gets things done
  • Empathetic with high humility, integrity, and care for others
  • Exceptional written and oral presentation and communication skills
  • Eye for design and layout of documents
  • Manages project roles and responsibilities effectively, and meets deadlines consistently
  • Enjoys learning from people of diverse backgrounds

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Leadership experience in the non-profit, for-profit/startup, government, or education sector
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, or Design, or equivalent practical experience
  • MBA or equivalent practical experience
  • Spoken and written fluency in Kannada, Telugu, and/or Tamil
