We’re seeking an entrepreneurial Business Development Manager to drive our B2B (or B2B2C) model, delivering solar irrigation services to businesses, institutions, and farmer entrepreneurs across India. Key Responsibilities:

Strategy Development:

  • Craft a robust B2B business strategy, collaborating with service providers on business, financial, legal, and compliance aspects.
  • Conduct comprehensive market research, gaining insights into potential clients and competitive landscape.
  • Develop and analyze business plans, financial models, pricing, and market entry strategies.
  • Oversee registrations, compliance, and regulatory requirements for business launch.
  • Define target markets, customer segments, and criteria for selection.

Business Development:

  • Identify and approach potential B2B clients, including corporates, SMEs, foundations, NGOs, and FPOs.
  • Cultivate relationships with clients through effective communication, negotiation, and due diligence.
  • Prepare and execute contracts, proposals, MoUs, and service agreements.
  • Manage and nurture relationships with existing clients.

Line Management:

  • Recruit, train, and supervise junior employees.
  • Provide coaching, feedback, and conduct performance reviews.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Proven track record of building B2B client relationships.
  • Knowledge of agriculture, agribusiness, solar energy, or related sectors.
  • Graduate degree in a relevant discipline.
  • Established network and understanding of corporate entities, farmer-led organizations, NGOs, etc.
  • Strong persuasion skills and ability to maintain relationships.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel.
  • Excellent written and spoken English and Hindi.
  • Exceptional organizational and documentation skills.
  • Willingness to travel pan-India for client meetings and fieldwork.
