Grocery has the biggest share of the overall retail spend in India and is projected to be an $800B market in 2024-25, of which the majority contribution comes from non-Metro cities. The grocery market in Metro has become crowded with a lot of players trying to solve the supply chain but the higher cost of logistics restricts these players to disrupt the lower tier cities.

At Meesho Grocery, we are building the most cost-effective distribution channel to disrupt the grocery market in lower tier (non-Metro) cities of India which is currently dominated by offline players. We are onto the journey of creating a hyperlocal marketplace for grocery and solving the intermediate inefficiencies in the distribution system.

Meesho grocery is an early-stage mini start-up within Meesho with a completely different supply chain and modus operandi. We are a bunch of high-energy enthusiasts working towards creating something cool and something big.

About The Role

The person works on exciting problem statements in the sourcing & seller excellency, process design, pricing, customer experience domains.

What you will do ?

  • Understand the supply landscape for different grocery categories and ensure our buying practices are industry best, ensuring best quality for competent price – backed by strong seller ecosystem
  • Institute relevant market price intel frameworks to track and directionally predict the price movement of staple commodities and influence buying accordingly
  • Play a pivotal role in streamlining the functional practices, governance and overall performance management
  • Work closely with Category & CX teams to accomplish target margin and experience metrics
  • Perform data analysis in order to track metrics and analyze trends regarding seller performance and margins
  • Present detailed problem definitions and solution to senior leadership and execute the solutions

What you will need?

  • B Tech or MBA 2-4 years of work experience, preferably in sourcing or e-commerce or consulting background
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams and stakeholder management
  • Ability to develop first-principle thinking.
  • Proven skills in driving problems to solutions and opportunities.
  • Ruthless prioritization skills between immediate, medium and long term goals
  • Ability to analyze data to identify points of failure and success areas
  • Ability to take up high ownership to plan and deliver on business-related goals
