Job summary
The Red Hat Certification Operations team is looking for an Associate Manager to join us in Pune, India. In this role, you will join a team of highly collaborative individuals and play a key role in re-inventing our certification program. You will be responsible for developing the overall certification operations strategy, where you will manage effective workflow, optimize resources, leverage cert tooling and processes, etc., and deliver a good partner experience and value for product certification. You’ll provide personalized, attentive support and guidance to our partners as you try to understand their internal processes and business needs. You’ll also facilitate collaboration with various different teams within R&D, product management, and global support teams. You should have a partner and customer-centric mindset, as you will seek and provide feedback to improve the certification experience.

Primary Job Responsibilities
- Own the overall Certification Operations function and plan for increasing the number of certified programs
- Manage a team of highly skilled engineers working on Red Hat product certification processes and workflows
- Support Red Hat Partners to build understanding of Red Hat product certification and clarify certification policy
- Work with partner engineers and architects to run verification tests and interpret results
- Build effective KPI and objectives and key results (OKR) for the team and manage day to day operations
- Identify dashboard and metric requirements to showcase the value of certification
- Build a cohesive team and manage people effectively; coach and develop the team.
- Collaborate across Red Hat to provide support for certification processes
- Create and refine certification operational process and procedures
- Act as a certification liaison to Red Hat Engineering and Support teams
- Coach team members to develop their depth of technical and certification skills
- Advocate for necessary resources, support, and appreciation for the team
- Follow up on and take responsibility for unresolved issues or escalations
Required skills
- Bachelor’s degree, preferably in computer science, computer engineering, or a management-related discipline
- 3+ years of managing teams work experience
- Ability to manage a team of junior to principal software engineers
- Excellent knowledge of Linux; familiarity with Fedora or Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL)
- Eager to learn and research on new technologies
- Self-motivated and proactive to take responsibilities
- Knowledge of hardware components of computer
- Knowledge of Docker, Containers, Openstack APIs; experience with Tempest is a plus
- Solid analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, including the ability to be influential and persuasive with stakeholders
- Ability to deal with difficult situations and issues
- Ability to work under pressure and creatively
- Ability to communicate effectively with customers, partners, third party vendors, and Red Hat associates
- Experience managing change and new initiatives
- Ability to develop effective relationships internally at a variety of levels and work closely with engineering departments and product management
- Project related work experience is a plus
