About the Opportunity

The Associate Consultant will play a key role in projects at the Foundations Unit in Sattva. In this role, you will be part of a Project Management Unit (PMU) set up with a Central Government Ministry. The project entails working closely with senior bureaucrats to support them on priority policy initiatives on the lines of tech and data policy in India. You work closely with the Project Lead to build a credible rapport with stakeholders at the Ministry, provide strategic insights towards policy initiatives and support in the roll out of large scale interventions.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Understanding the problem deeply and asking the right questions in teams discussions
  • Identify key data and information through primary and secondary research and builds strategic narratives for communicating data and research insights with the key message

Delivery Excellence:

  • Collaborates effectively with internal and external stakeholders (including government stakeholders) and manages relevant resources in order to deliver on one’s work
  • Ensures that they plan ahead and work smart to achieve all their deliverables
  • Tracks overall project progress and is able to flag when things are not on track
  • Ensure creation and adoption of high-quality assets, methods, and standards created during delivery

Stakeholder Engagement:

  • Establishes a deep rapport with the middle management of the client organization through constant engagement and personal credibility
  • Listens actively to clients and understands both articulated and unarticulated needs
  • Presents own point of view convincingly using relevant information, arguments, and examples

Project Management:

  • Plans day to day responsibilities effectively at an individual level
  • Possesses excellent time management and prioritization skills to work on key activities that are directly linked to impact outcomes
  • Proactively monitors and reports any risk in individual/project milestones
  • Maintains thorough documentation of key project knowledge assets

Eligibility

We are looking for individuals who align with our mission of alleviating poverty in our lifetime and have:

  • 2-4 years of experience in consulting, stakeholder management in corporate, social enterprises, consulting firms, or global foundations/government bodies
  • MBA or an Equivalent postgraduate degree in  business management, or development (public policy, policy communications, and public health will have an added advantage)
  • Sound understanding of the policy environment on primary health with a focus on maternal and newborn health
  • Understanding of healthcare ecosystem and government structures will have an added advantage
  • Exceptional problem-solving and advisory skills, strong presentation, and analytical abilities
  • Prior experience in a client or customer-facing role and diverse stakeholder management esp. government stakeholders
  • Strong communication skills (English) with experience in research and drafting for reports, policy asks, and publications
  • Experience in organizing public events and conferences and facilitating meetings and working sessions with senior management
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously, and follow through on issues in a timely manner
  • Agility and adaptability to work under pressure and towards tight deadlines maintaining effective performance.
  • Ability to organize own work and manage own time with minimal supervision
  • Display humility, willingness to listen, and excitement to learn
  • Experience in working with government stakeholders is preferred
  • Prior experience and expertise in Tech and Data Policy will be a preferred asset in the candidate
