About the Program

CHAI in partnership with its India affiliate, William J. Clinton Foundation’s (WJCF) has been working in India since 2004 in close partnership with and under the guidance of the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW) at the central and state levels on an array of high priority initiatives aimed at improving health outcomes. Currently, CHAI/WJCF programs, supports government initiatives on HIV/AIDS, Hepatitis-C, tuberculosis, cancer, immunization, and health financing. Additionally, CHAI/WJCF supports many state governments on large-scale programs to arrest childhood and maternal mortality due to malnutrition, anemia, diarrhea and pneumonia, and helping increase access to quality family planning services.

CHAI/WJCF’s India immunization program supports the MoHFW’s UIP at the national level and in the focus states of Madhya Pradesh, Bihar, and Uttar Pradesh. CHAI/WJCF provides catalytic support to NCCVMRC, based out of National Institute of Health and Family Welfare (NIHFW), on national projects for improving availability and efficacy of vaccines and efficiency of vaccines systems. CHAI/WJCF also supports national and state governments on broader operational aspects such as planning, capacity building and systems improvements for immunization service delivery.

In Bihar, CHAI/WJCF will provide catalytic support to GoB for achieving and sustaining 90% FIC. CHAI/WJCF will help in setting up effective program management & review mechanisms, identifying pressing challenges as well as best practices in RI, enhancing impact of well performing interventions, developing & deploying effective solutions to pressing challenges and undertaking multi-year planning for long term immunization systems strengthening.

About the Role

CHAI/WJCF is seeking a highly motivated individual with outstanding credentials and demonstrated analytical and stakeholder management abilities for the role of Analyst,mRoutine Immunization. The Analyst will work very closely with GoB’s Routine Immunization (RI) cell and will provide continuous analytical & programmatic support to the immunization leadership in the state. The Analyst would deliver critical and on-demand program insights by leveraging multiple immunization & public health databases and field insights. The Analyst would support the RI cell in creating, executing and monitoring short term and long-term coverage improvement plans. The ideal candidate should have exceptional interpersonal skills, be able to work independently, be flexible, and have a strong commitment to excellence.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and socialize dashboards and custom defined performance reports for state and sub-state functionaries to utilize for routine program review meetings, planning, and decision making
  • Closely collaborate with Bihar state RI Cell in development of short term and long-term immunization coverage improvement and program improvement strategies in Bihar
  • Contribute to program strategy by developing purposive insights, visualizations, tools, templates and planning aids that support RI cell in program management
  • Support RI cell in responding to and complying with MoHFW & GoB priorities and guidelines effectively and in a timely fashion
  • Develop and socialize customized tools and templates for priority districts with the aim of targeting specific challenges facing those geographies
  • Support capacity building of key functionaries on relevant competencies for sustained ownership and delivery
  • Innovate, design and pilot test new approaches for immunization coverage improvement
  • Cultivate and maintain strong working relationships with multiple stakeholders across the immunization ecosystem in the state
  • Development of reports, presentations & templates for effective use by state RI cell
  • Travel on short notice to various parts of the state
  • Undertake any other duties as requested by the supervisor

Qualifications

  • Master’s/Bachelor’s degree in management, economics, engineering, computer science, statistics, operations research, economics, public health or allied areas
  • 3+ years of relevant work experience in consulting, public sector, investment banking, pharma or insurance analytics
  • Prior project management experience for medium/large scale analytics related projects preferred
  • High level of proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, PowerPoint and Word
  • Excellent analytical (qualitative and quantitative) and communication (written and verbal) skills
  • Entrepreneurial mind-set, including ability to work independently, self-motivate, and propose and implement new initiatives
  • Ability to think strategically, handle ambiguity, and problem solve in a fast-paced, limited-structure
  • Fluency in English & Hindi  

Preferred:

  • Proficiency in analytical tools such as Tableau, Power BI, Alteryx, etc. is strongly preferred
  • Experience of developing multi-faceted tools and aids in a public-sector context
  • Strong understanding of public health/immunization context
