About Amazon Future Engineer Scholarship

The AFE-FFE Scholarship program seeks to enhance the lives of academically gifted and financially needy students, preferably girls, from all over India by providing access to and support for Engineering, computer science, and related professional education.

Aside from financial and other assistance, Amazon will also provide mentorship, skill-building opportunities, and networking opportunities to AFE India Scholars, as well as the opportunity to apply for an Amazon Internship.

Academic Eligibility Criteria

  • Only female students pursuing BE/Btech courses in the following fields are eligible for scholarships:-
  1. Computer Science And Engineering
  2. ICT: Information And Communication Technology
  3. Information Science
  4. Information Science And Engineering
  5. I.T.: Information Technology
  • Only first-year B.E., B.Tech applicants after 2019 are expected to have completed their Board Qualifying Examination
  • Admission To Courses Is Based On The Merit Rank Awarded At Entrance Exams, Or Through A State Level Counselling Process.

Financial Eligibility Criteria

  • The applicant’s family annual income should not exceed Rs 3.0L.
  • When determine an applicant’s financial eligibility,
    • Education and occupation of parents as well as family members including an elder brother(s) and sister(s),
    • the family’s living conditions, and the
    • total expenses incurred by the family on the applicant’s education will be considered in addition to gross family income
  • Preference would be given to applicants who are the first in their family to graduate.

Selection Process

  1. Students apply to AFE – FFE Scholarship through an online application form.
  2. Once student eligibility is determined, students are connected to one of FFE’s distributed network of volunteer “Facilitators” in 27 states. Facilitators meet the prospective student or their family members, virtually, to determine the genuineness of need and financial hardship.
  3. After verification of family background and academic credentials, students submit the application form online along with all supporting document and requirement for AFE-FFE Scholarship program.
  4. Shortlisted AFE-FFE scholars will have to submit an essay mentioned in the form. 
  5. FFE’ scholarship program is based on a reimbursement model as students have already incurred expenses when they first apply for a scholarship (1st semester of College).
  6. FFE does not discriminate on the basis of caste, creed or religion.

Benefits of the Amazon Future Engineer Scholarship

  • Scholarship of INR  40,000/year until graduation if selected .
  • Only 500 AFE scholars will be selected initially, which may increasing in the future.
  • Each year, awards are renewable until a bachelor’s degree is obtained. 
  • Amazon also provide mentorship, skill-building opportunities, networking opportunities, and an opportunity to appear for Amazon Internship to the AFE Scholars.
