The Flourish team is currently looking for a paid volunteer for the role of Academic Content Creator to curate relevant learning materials.
About the Initiative:
Flourish is a not-for-profit initiative to develop a set of 8 innovative bilingual books in English and Tamil that aims to improve the language skills of Tamil-speaking learners and impart moral education through contextual stories and activities, developed by an internationally recognised team. Flourish has been volunteer-driven and is set to be piloted for over 5000 students. For more details, visit flourishbooks.app.
Position
- Academic Content Creator
Responsibilities:
- The primary responsibility of the volunteer is to create academic content to help the teachers to deliver the online instruction of the Flourish Books in an engaging and effective way.
- Kahoot quizzes for the stories in the books
- Teaching guides for each story to support the teachers
Location:
- Remote/Online
Time Commitment:
- 5 hours/week for 6 weeks
Required Expertise:
- Preference will be given to volunteers with prior experience in creating teaching plans and working with children.
Benefits:
- If the volunteer is a teacher, they will be given exclusive access to all the Flourish stories for their classroom usage in addition to the free stories available on the website.
- Apart from the exclusive access to stories, the volunteer will also be awarded with a honorarium as an acknowledgement to their efforts.
