About Pahle India Foundation (PIF):

Pahle India Foundation (PIF) is a not-for-profit research think tank established in June 2014. Committed to facilitating policy change, PIF focuses on financial, economic, and political research. They aim to contribute to a paradigm shift in development thinking and practices to help India achieve the aspirational goal of becoming a high-income economy by 2050.

Position Summary:

PIF is inviting applications for the position of Research Assistant/Research Associate to work on various verticals such as Financial Sector (Banking, Capital Markets, Insurance, Sustainable Financing), Growth of the digital economy and FINTECH, Domestic Trade and Commerce (including retail and e-Commerce), and MSMEs. The candidate should be a macroeconomist with a willingness to engage in applied economic research and statistical analysis.

Qualifications:

  • Masters in Economics/Finance/Public Policy or relevant fields.
  • Minimum 1-3 years of work experience in qualitative and quantitative research and policy advocacy in the financial sector/domestic trade/digital economy.

Remuneration:

  • Comparable to other think tanks.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Rigorous economic analysis based on statistical evidence.
  • Econometric modeling.
  • Data mining and data analysis.
  • Assist in writing proposals, discussion papers, issue briefs, and policy briefs.
  • Regularly publish in economic journals/magazines and dailies.
  • Organize seminars, discussions, and consultations.

Knowledge and Skill Requirements:

  • Strong communication and excellent written skills.
  • Knowledge of econometric packages such as STATA and SPSS.
  • Proficiency in making presentations, report writing, and delivering high accuracy in all work products.
  • Knowledge of MS Office, especially Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Active and interested in using social media for content distribution.

Additional Requirements:

  • The ideal candidate should be a team player, highly motivated, particular about observing deadlines, and prepared for outcome-based performance evaluation.
  • PIF follows a progressive HR policy that includes flexi-time, outcome-based increments, and a premium on collegial and non-hierarchical working conditions. The candidate should be flexible in working hours and willing to travel.
