Launched in 2015, Generation is a global nonprofit that works across fifteen countries and 250+ cities, training and placing disconnected youth (Generation) and mid-career learners (ReGeneration) into 40+ professions across tech, healthcare, customer service, and skilled trades. To date, we have supported 56,000+ graduates, at an 84% job placement rate, and 65% continue to be employed twelve months later. Graduates typically earn 3-4x more than their income prior to Generation.

Job Description 

We are looking for an exceptional Partnerships Associate to join our Multinational Program Partnerships team, helping us grow and thrive through strategic alliances with private, public and social sector organizations. Our existing multinational program partners include Bank of America, BlackRock, Microsoft, Credit Suisse, Verizon, and more. This role will be responsible for adding to that exciting roster. You will also manage a portfolio of our existing collaborations to ensure an exceptional partner experience and maximum value for Generation.

You will be joining a rapidly growing team within Generation, with a pivotal role to play in helping us change the lives of tens of thousands of job-seekers around the world. Not only do our partnerships fund our current activities, they are instrumental in driving our expansion to new professions and countries, and they keep us at the cutting edge of adult education by enabling research and innovation.

Job Responsibilities

Reporting directly to the Manager, Multinational Program Partnerships, and working closely with the APAC Chief Operating Officer, the Partnerships Associate will cultivate and oversee an exciting portfolio of multinational partnerships. You will be responsible for direction setting of each partnership, and end-to-end management of Generation’s delivery therein. You can expect initial responsibility for 4-5 existing multinational relationships, with this portfolio to grow over time.

Your responsibilities will include:

Partnership development:

  • Identify new opportunities for multinational program partnerships with corporations, foundations and development organizations, through research and network-building
  • Lead the partnership design and proposal writing process for new multinational program partnerships
  • Support local teams in multiple Generation affiliates, with a focus on South-Asia and Asia-Pacific, to secure and manage high-quality national partnerships
  • Ensure new programmatic partnerships are set up for success, with a shared vision, clear and measurable impact targets, and clear lines of communication and reporting expectations.

Partnership management:

  • Lead the day to day execution of multinational partnerships by working with key stakeholders at multiple levels in partner organizations, and be a credible representative of Generation in discussions with same 
  • Ensure high-quality implementation of Generation programs against scope and targets agreed with partners, as well as timely and accurate reporting of same
  • Identify opportunities to grow the impact of existing partnerships, whether by broadening their scope, renewing multi year engagements, or celebrating our impact together with partners

Internal knowledge-building

  • Contribute to the capacity-building and knowledge-sharing of local Generation Affiliates by gathering and sharing best practices, and by identifying training opportunities for the network
  • Be a committed and valued member of the global partnerships team, and play a vital role in creating a culture that attracts and supports exceptional talent

Education Qualification/Required Skills & Experience 

  • You have prior experience in fundraising and proposal writing and can prepare high-quality written project proposals and presentations to potential partners
  • You have experience working with multinational companies and engaging with external partners
  • You have experience managing complex projects and working across diverse, global teams – experience working with multiple countries across Asia is a plus
  • You have exceptional communication skills in English, both written and verbal
  • You are warm and empathetic – meaning you can build trust-based relationships with diverse stakeholders in a range of geographic, cultural and industry context
  • You are resolutely data-driven in your approach to solving problems, influencing and informing decisions, and will put in the legwork to get us to the best solution to any problem
