Job Summary

The Red Hat Procurement team has an exciting opportunity for a Procurement Manager to support Asia Pacific (APAC) and join our growing team in Pune, India. In this role, you’ll join the Global Procurement team that is organized into major spend categories including IT and telecom, marketing, professional services, HR services, global workplace solutions, and travel. You will be responsible for engaging Red Hat stakeholders, setting procurement strategies, guiding strategic sourcing initiatives, negotiating contracts, and managing strategic supplier relationships related to purchases for APAC. Your success will be measured against business metrics including savings, stakeholder satisfaction, contract management, and supplier management. You’ll report directly to the Manager, APAC Procurement.
Primary Job Responsibilities
- Create and implement regional procurement strategies that are innovative, cost effective, and incorporate the growing complexities and challenges across Red Hat’s operating expenses for APAC
- Partner with stakeholders and budget owners on appropriate spending strategies
- Support stakeholders spend requirements and priorities by driving procurement initiatives
- Select supplier sources by using competitive sourcing activities
- Manage activities related to sourcing, supplier evaluation, and business awards
- Form contracts with selected suppliers to negotiate optimal terms and conditions
- Build strategic relationships and manage supplier performance for key suppliers via stakeholder feedback and performance-based metrics
- Lead transformational activities to build procurement organizational capabilities and improve procurement efficiency
- Review data, as directed, to identify initiatives that could deliver value; take on support work for global procurement
Required skills
- Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, supply chain, or related field; MBA is a plus
- 5+ years of professional experience with 3+ years of strategic procurement experience; indirect sourcing or category management experience
- Excellent communication, time management, and interpersonal skills
- Experience in developing and leading strategic sourcing initiatives for indirect spend categories
- Solid analytical skills demonstrated in performing bid analysis, cost analysis, fair-value analysis, and scenario modeling
- Complex problem-solving skills with the ability to develop and implement creative solutions
- Solid experience with contract negotiations at senior levels
- Experience in building relationships with a diverse set of stakeholders and suppliers
- Demonstrated persuasion skills and the ability to gain agreement among a wide range of stakeholders
- Experience leading multi-disciplined projects with minimal amount of supervision
- Experience presenting complex ideas to management in a simplified manner
- Customer service oriented, team-player attitude, with excellent written and verbal English communication skills; additional language skills are a plus
- Confident with ability to work on your own; ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to work as a part of a team
