About

UMEED, a triple bottom line non-profit organization, exists to empower women from the low income communities of Hyderabad, India, by providing them with life skills and knowledge; enabling them to take better control of their livelihoods. Umeed exists as a social enterprise where these women are trained to make handicrafts out of recycled products, which are then sold with the profits being distributed to the women and reinvested back into the business.

Position Summary

The lack of an employable skill and a progressive mindset with relevant exposure to the world around is one of the most pervasive gap areas stopping women in our societies from making right choices and a sustainable livelihood for themselves and their families. We believe it is critical to empower women holistically. To do so we have scaled our skill building component to provide women with functional and life skills that support their first leap into an employment opportunity, while our mindset and exposure component provides women with a deep understanding of ‘self- worth’ that would help her develop a well-rounded personality.

The Lead Facilitator, a strong flagbearer of gender equality, must aim at bridging the gap between the skills and aptitude levels of women and the local industry requirements and leverage methodologies that make women, deepen their understanding of the self, unlock their creative potential, and build supportive communities of learning. The Lead facilitator must be fluent in spoken Telugu, preferably in written too.
