About the Internship

Core responsibilities will include:

  • Recording / Entry of transactions/Sales & Purchase of bills in Tally, after close scrutiny of each voucher.
  • Coordination with Marketing and Dispatch teams
  • Handling of cash transactions, along with entry in Tally, daily closing and reconciliation.
  • Regular ledger scrutiny.
  • Assisting Accounts Officer and Finance Officer in internal audit and statutory audit.
  • Independent handling of internal audit queries and preparing internal audit compliance reports for HO as well as dissemination books of accounts.
  • Preparation and scrutiny of salary register/Payroll.
  • Preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual statements towards statutory submissions.
  • Oversee cash and bank transactions and reconciliations.
  • Inventory accounting of Eklavya and other publication and TLMs.
  • Statutory tax related tasks: monthly GST & TDS calculations, scrutiny and payments of challan, monthly and quarterly working of GST and filling GST returns, Tax Deduction at Source (TDS).
  • Asset purchase and recording entries in tally and maintain stock register.
  • Finalisation of dissemination center financial statements.
  • Verification and accounting of national level book fairs.
  • Reconciliation of stock, sales and receipts.
  • Online sales/ selling portals related tasks.
  • Any other accounts related tasks to support the publications unit and the organisation.

Desired Qualifications and experience:

  • A Holder of Bachelor/Master degree in Commerce with 4-5 years of relevant experience. Or a CA dropout (CA Inter/IPCC). 
  • In depth knowledge of accounting principles and generally accepted accounting practices.
  • Proficient in using Tally accounting software.
  • Should possess good communication skills in English and Hindi.
  • Should be well-versed with standard office use software and internet, especially Excel

Remuneration: 

  • Rs. 26,000/- to Rs. 30,000/- (Cost to Organisation).
  • Final take-home and cost to the organisation can be negotiable, based on the qualifications, experience, initiative-taking capabilities and other necessary skill sets.
