Duration of Internship
- Internships are offered for 1, 3, 6 or 12 months.

- Students and Youths having Knowledge of TAMIL can apply for the Internship Program.

15 Years ago, I had gone to US to attend a program for Youth in Politics. There I had the chance to interact with Party Leaders, Senators and House of Representative from both the Democratic and Republican Party to understand their work. I observed that there were lot of opportunities for young people to work with the office of such leaders and the fieldwork associated with it. For the interns, it opened doors to experience first-hand, the intricacies of politics, governance, political organising and gave them a chance to work with government departments and implementing their ideas for reform. Moreover, it becomes a steppingstone for youth who want to work in politics. Many who started like this are now became public representatives themselves.Such opportunities and experience also help those who may choose other career paths. For a member of parliament like me , this provides an opportunity to work on the issues with new approaches and perspectives that the interns can offer. So its mutually helpful.
There is not many opportunities which are accessible for students and youth from humble socio-economic backgrounds. It has been a longstanding dream for me to make such opportunities available in Tamil Nadu. As a first step, we are opening up internships for young people to work on our constituency development projects and Parliamentary responsibilities. There has not been such an initiative yet in Tamil Nadu. This is a great opportunity and I urge interested youth to make use of it. The certificates and experience will add value when you apply for higher studies or employment. I urge everyone to apply.
