About the Opportunity:
The office of Mr. P.V. Abdul Wahab is offering two internship positions to the graduate students to introduce young enthusiastic students to the praxis of our parliamentary democracy.
The objective of the internship is to give you a first hand impression of the day to day working of Indian Parliament. Interns are selected on a competitive basis. We seek applicants who exhibit an interest in the field of Parliamentary procedure, issues of minorities, tribals, dalits, women, backward class, caste and other unprivileged sections of our society.
About the Member of Parliament:
Mr. P.V Abdul Wahab is a three time member of Rajya Sabha from Kerala. He represents Indian Union Muslim League in the Rajya Sabha. He is a member Standing Committee on Industry Affairs, Consultative Committee for the Ministry of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship and Konkan Railway Users’ Consultative Committee.
As a member of parliament, he takes keen interest in the issues of social justice, economic -cultural-human rights, Education and welfare policies. He is an advocate for minorities, dalits, tribal, farmers and other backward sections of our society in the parliament.
Roles and Responsibilities:
The intern’s primary task is to assist the Member of Parliament (MP) in his day to day parliamentary interventions . This can involve providing research support required, such as inputs for bills, parliamentary questions, policy debates and standing committee meetings.
Eligibility:
Education
- Prefer Candidates who have completed an Under Graduate or Post Graduate degree.
- Candidates in the final year of Bachelors program or a post graduate degree may apply.
- Students from Law, Social Science and Humanities are strongly encouraged to apply.

General Aptitude
- Knowledge of political, parliamentary and legislative processes.
- A sound understanding of Indian politics, Economy, and current affairs.
- Ability to present persuasive, coherent and well-founded arguments.
- Demonstrate curiosity to learn and intervene social issues that affects general public.
Language Skills
- Applicant should have written and spoken proficiency in English
- Fluency in Malayalam is desirable
